I painted this in 1995 after watching Hillary Clinton offer up a health care solution to the congress and get llaughed out of the house. I imagined she must have felt like a mother who went full term to bear a child that was attacked by jackals. This is an adaptation of the Queen d’Anjou fighting to save a child. The message still works in 2015.
